Music from "The Holidays" is a selection of original music composed and produced for the QLD Theatre Company production of 'The Holidays', which premiered in Brisbane from 14 November - 12 December 2020.

The music for this production was designed to intricately weave in with the on-stage action and multilayered video projections. The script left significant space for the underscore to work with the narrative and the music features reverb-laden felt piano and synthesised string parts.

These sounds seek to evoke a sense of memory. Blurry, soft, pulsating parts come in waves, perhaps connecting to the beachside shack the characters often inhabit.

Textural, and emotive; I hope this music conveys the emotional depth in the production, but also, that it stands alone, as a suite of music with a sense of melodic identity, dynamic and character.
